Yafan Chen, Ph.D., MSW, earned her Ph.D. and MSW from Rutgers University School of Social Work. Her research focuses on violence against women and children, with expertise in child maltreatment, children’s exposure to domestic violence, and intimate partner violence in Asian American and Latino communities.

Yafan is currently working on a nationally study about interpersonal violence against Latina women in the US. She is also conducting a series of secondary studies about the long-term patterns of children’s exposure to domestic violence and the outcomes in adolescence.
